Since its inception in 1989, the gallery has presented a program of exceptional solo exhibitions and dynamic group shows. In autumn of 1999, the gallery moved from its original home in SoHo to its current location on the corner of 10th Avenue and 27th Street in Chelsea. In November 2011, the gallery opened its second location at 515 W. 27th Street, and in September 2014, a third space at 297 Tenth Avenue. The gallery publishes a variety of catalogues and monographs, participates in international art fairs and frequently presents outdoor public art projects.">

Organized with curators Esti Dunow and Maurice Tuchman, the gallery's 2014 exhibition offered the incredibly rare opportunity to see fifteen Soutine masterpieces in a commercial gallery in Chelsea.  Roald Dahl's macabre story "Skin" – in which a semi-fictionalized version of Soutine plays a major role – is reproduced, along with a scholarly introduction which approaches the work from a neuroscientific point of view.  The catalogue contains stunning plate photography of the exhibtion works:  landscapes, portraits, and several of the artist's wrenching paintings of broken or flayed animal bodies.
