BOSCO SODI: ART NIGHT, LONDON 2018

July 07, 2018

Bosco Sodi
MURO

Art Night, London. July 7, 2018
National Theatre

For his first public performative installation in London, Mexican artist Bosco Sodi built a 2 meter high by 8 meter long wall in the riverside square of the National Theatre on London’s South Bank. Muro comprised 1600 clay bricks, made in Mexico with the help of local craftsmen and individually signed by the artist. Once installed, passers–by were invited to dismantle the wall brick-by-brick and take part of the artwork home. For Sodi, Muro is more than just an artwork or performance, it is a reminder that when society comes together it can dismantle any kind of barrier. As he says ‘It’s about breaking down walls physically and mentally.’
